Project Description (2013)
This project consists of two boxing gloves with fabric pressure sensors integrated into the front area of each glove (red). In addition to the textile pressure/impact sensing, a three-axis accelerometer is mounted on the wrist of each boxing glove (yellow), alongside the electronics for capturing the analog sensor data and transmitting it wirelessly over Bluetooth to a nearby PC (windows) or MAC (osx) computer. A basic application running on the computer receiving the data via Bluetooth visualizes the incoming pressure/impact sensor data as well as prints out the numbers from the accelerometer.
