Video 1
The one time so far that i have been able to get both Bluetooth modules to connect to the application at the same time, i captured this (pretty bad) video footage. But it does shows the incoming sensor data, and that the gloves are wireless (not connected to the computer). Unfortunately i had to hold the camera in one hand while filming so i couldn’t put on the gloves. I also had nothing in the vicinity of my computer to box against so the graph readings never reach their maximum.
You’ll notice a slight displacement between the red and the blue graphs, this is because the the graph is showing the incoming sensor data without making adjustments for the initial pressure exerted on the sensor from being sewn into the boxing glove, as well as from the boxing glove being worn. The incoming sensor values can be thresholded and scaled so that they are in equal ranges, but this is something that will change over time as the gloves wear and also depending on who is wearing them. Ideally this is something that is easy to adjust in the code or software, each time they are worn/used.
I have had a hard time knowing how to calibrate the sensor data based on impact because i have no way of measuring instances of force. Mapping the sensor values to a linear force scale would require some equipment that could exert exact amounts of force in order to figure out the curve of the sensor.
The great thing about the sensor is that it is all fabric, super soft and unobtrusive. It is also extremely cheap to make, if you don’t include the labor time for sewing it by hand.

Video 2
This video shows the gloves connected to the computer. The left glove is wired, the right glove is wireless. I demonstrate the by squeezing the glove with my hand i can control the pressure curve of either glove, it also shows that if i wriggle my hand inside the glove that this affects the sensor, but that this “noise” can be eliminated by setting an appropriate threshold value. I also demonstrate the impact curve when boxing the right glove against my window frame:-)
As you will notice, the graph never reaches the maximum, this is simply because i am not able to pressure it hard enough without jumping on it.
